Harold and Shirley Leiting of Colorado spend part of each summer at Inspiration Ministries as members of the Mobile Missionary Assistance Program (MMAPers) team. These volunteers roll into the RV area of Camp and set up shop.
In June 2009, three other couples joined them and spent three weeks with us, working four days a week, seven hours a day. They gave Cabin 2 a serious facelift, replacing dry wall, and adding lighting, siding and fresh paint. While the men did construction work, the women painted, worked in the kitchen and did a variety of other tasks around Inspiration Ministries.
Harold and Shirley, like a number of other MMAPers, call their RV home and do not have a permanent physical address. Each place they serve is home for a while.
A walk around Inspiration Ministries shows their fingerprints in the chapel, the residential wings, the kitchen and almost every other building on campus. They come back each year because “here our work makes a difference. We know that if we didn’t come, the work wouldn’t get done. We love serving Jesus this way.”
Like all MMAPers, they are financially independent and self-supporting. They pay all their own living expenses and bring with them a wonderful spirit of community and servanthood.
They bless us with their laughter, their faith and their service. Their attitudes, sense of adventure, and energy add a spring to our step and accomplish what we do not have time or resources to do.
Thank you MMAPers, for your faith-filled service!
