Camps / Retreats

Inspiration Retreat Center is a year-round camp facility that seeks to provide meaningful and unforgettable experiences for people with physical and/or cognitive disabilities.

Inspiration Reteat Center’s relaxing atmosphere provides a refreshing and adventurous setting for every guest to experience a memorable retreat. Campers can choose from arts and crafts, swimming, horseback riding, a boat ride on Geneva Lake, Bible studies, learning about God’s creation, planned theme meals and special trips like Major League Baseball games.

Last year about 620 people with disabilities were served in 18 camp sessions. In addition, about $10,000 in camp scholarships was given to 44 people. Something special happens when people with disabilities have the chance to break free from the routine of life, meet new people, engage in new activities, and be refreshed spiritually.

Campers can choose from one or more different camp activities like:

Summer Camps
Respite Care Camps
Travel Tours

Regardless of the camp session you attend, the basic elements that make up the camp experience are the same: fun, friends, and fellowship.

Fun: We believe that fun activities help people let their guard down and enjoy real fellowship. Activities like the zip wire, the special accessible low ropes course, shooting paint balls at targets, talent shows, fishing, boat tours, Milwaukee Brewers games, and trips to the Domes in Milwaukee are just a few of the ways campers have fun.

Friends: Isolation so often characterizes the lives of people with disabilities. When people who have never come to camp have the chance to interact and develop new relationships with people, their lives are forever impacted. And they tell us that.

Fellowship: The fellowship and spiritual emphasis that overarches everything is very important. We seek to provide hope by acknowledging the spiritual part of every human being and offering daily chapel services, prayer, and devotional times. Staff is trained in identifying and encouraging campers to acknowledge and appreciate the spiritual dimension.
