| People with disabilities of all ages
are welcome to attend Inspiration Retreat Center’s Outdoor Education
program for one to three days. Experiences and opportunities are offered
to enrich school curriculum, as well as to explore the many aspects
of creation. These classes are especially beneficial for special education
classes in the southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois area.
Program activities include: guided nature hikes on a paved accessible nature trail, bird and animal studies, accessible tree climb and zip wire activities, nature crafts, prairie and plant study, campfires, pontoon boat fishing, and more.
The program will be offered in three separate tracks. Track one is a 9am-3pm session featuring a bird and animal study, a plant and prairie study, a tree climb, a zip wire experience, and a guided nature hike. Track two is an overnight adventure with more in depth study of nature and animals, housing in our main lodge or cottages, meals, as well as campfire and hayride experiences. Track three is a two night session including the previous components plus pontoon boat fishing on one of two nearby lakes and sporting options like archery, wheelchair basketball, volleyball, softball, and swimming.
